Serves 1
I love this smoothie because it is delicious as a stand alone smoothie but also works perfectly for breakfast served with oats and other toppings. Mango and berries are a great pairing because the berries are sharp so the sweetness of the mango cuts through and has a hint of heat with the fresh ginger.
Both mango and berries are high in vitamin C which supports digestive health (as well as many other benefits). Ginger is also a great aid for digestive health.
I have also included maca powder and chia seeds. They don’t have a strong flavour addition but add more nutritional benefits - maca is great for energy and chia seeds are full of antioxidants.
Ingredients
90g frozen mango
90g frozen mixed berries
inch fresh ginger
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp maca powder
100ml almond milk
step1
Put all of the ingredients into a blender and blitz until the drink is completely smooth.
Notes
- Use more milk if the drink is still too thick.
- If the drink isn’t sweet enough for your preference, add a couple of dates.
- If you have some greens such as kale or spinach, add a small handful to get a portion of greens which are full of nutrients.
