Chocolate Orange Smoothie

I really like the combination of chocolate and orange. They match each other so nicely and I associate it with Terry’s chocolate orange which was one of my top chocolates. After making my Chocolate Orange Porridge, I knew it would be as delicious as a drink.


Cacao is rich in copper, magnesium and a source of protein. I always use cacao to add chocolate flavour since it is full of nutritional benefits and unprocessed so without added sugar for example.




Ingredients


2 tsp cacao powder

2 oranges, juiced

1/2 frozen banana

1 tbsp chia

70ml coconut milk

3 ice cubes

Combine all of the ingredients into a blender and blitz until completely smooth.


Notes


- If you don’t want the flavour of banana, try a couple of dates instead and some extra liquid to sweeten the drink.


- You could include the zest for further orange flavour however, be aware it could make the drink too bitter.


- I use coconut milk for a creamy texture as well as delicious, complementary taste. You could use any plant milk, oat would also work well.


- If you prefer a runnier consistency, use more milk than stated.
